Fathom Dynamic Data Software allow you to freely and creatively explore ideas in mathematics, statistics, and science. Relate your studies to real-world examples and understand the concepts as never before! Fathom 2 enhances learning from algebra to calculus, statistics, and beyond. Get excited about data exploration!

Data is everywhere! Forever change your students' view of data analysis, statistics and mathematics! Fathom enables and motivates your students to gather, graph, analyse, and animate data of all kinds. Fathom 2's new full-colour design makes it easier than ever for your students to identify patterns and make sense of data.

Take control of your data

  • Drag the data or add some, or just select it. Every representation and calculation updates automatically.
  • Drag and drop to build new graphs, tables, and collections.
  • Easily change graph types, rescale axes, or zoom in to identify and outlier. Fit regressions lines and make residual plots automatically

Build simulations to explore mathematics, science, and social science

  • Use sliders as variable parameters to fit functions to data.
  • Use any of the more than 100 built-in functions, or create your own formulas.
  • Define units for attributes, sliders, and formulas. Fathom converts units and does unit algebra automatically.

Investigate cool data

  • Fathom comes with more than 300 data sets for you to explore, from science to arts to sports.
  • Easily download data from the internet or import it from other programs.
  • Enjoy access to U.S. census microdata from 1850 to 2000.
  • Easily import data from source, such as the UK Census at School project from the Royal Statistical Society.

Geometers Sketchpad

With it you can construct figures from simple textbook diagrams to working models of the Pythagorean Theorem, perspective drawings, tessellations, fractals, animated sine waves, etc. This program will let you experiment with complex geometrical constructions.

The Geometer´s Sketchpad is a popular commercial interactive geometry software program for exploring Euclidean geometry, algebra, calculus, and other areas of mathematics. It was created by Nicholas Jackiw. It is designed to run on Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 or later and Mac OS 8.6 or later (including Mac OS X). It also runs on Linux under Wine with few minor bugs.

Geometer´s Sketchpad includes the traditional Euclidean tools of classical Geometric constructions, that is, if a figure (such as the pentadecagon) can be constructed with compass and straightedge, it can also be constructed using this program. However, the program also allows users to employ transformations to "cheat" creating figures impossible to construct under the traditional compass-and-straightedge rules (such as the regular nonagon).

Mathematics Learning beyond Traditional Boundaries
Sketchpad is a dynamic construction and exploration tool that enables students to explore and understand mathematics in ways that are simply not possible with traditional tools or with other mathematics software programs. With a scope that spans the mathematics curriculum from middle school to college, The Geometer´s Sketchpad brings a powerful dimension to the study of mathematics.

Sketchpad is versatile and easy to use
Sketchpad is designed with an intuitive interface for ease of use, so your students will be focused on the activity, not the navigation. And Sketchpad works well in a variety of classroom settings with an overhead projector, with one or two classroom computers, or in a computer lab. Students can work on independent explorations, and they can solve assigned problems collaboratively or alone. Teachers use Sketchpad to create worksheets, exams, and reports by exporting Sketchpad figures and measurements to spreadsheets, word processors, other drawing programs, and the Web.

Sketchpad gives you the tools to do the following:

  • Accomplish Euclidean constructions with the drawing tools in the Toolbox and with commands in the Construct menu.
  • Go beyond Euclidean constructions using commands in the Transform menu to construct translations, reflections, rotations, dilations, and iterations by fixed, computed, and dynamic quantities.
  • Enter the realm of analytic geometry using the Graph menu to plot functions and work in rectangular or polar coordinate systems.
  • Calculate, define, evaluate, graph, and differentiate functions, see derivatives both graphically and symbolically.
  • Create powerful, flexible, animations, for example, to trace out sine waves and explore other trigonometric identities.
  • Use parametric color to add an "extra dimension" in any visualization, ranging from simple mathematical finger-painting activities at the early grades to surface plots at the higher grades.
  • Modify sketches easily through Split/Merge and editing of calculations and functions.
  • Encapsulate complex constructions in single steps with user-designed Custom Tools.
  • Take advantage of enhanced graphics: full color objects, text, and background create striking visual effects, styled text enhances professional appearance, mathematical text increases authenticity.
  • Create multi-page Sketchbooks: assemble related activities and package them with activity-specific tools, create electronic portfolios and presentations, develop curriculum, design activities.
  • Integrate Web-based resources into Sketchpad activities and publish "live" Dynamic Geometry activities on the Web.
